The Canadian Council for the Americas, together with the Right Honourable Prime Minister Stephen Harper, hosted a cocktail reception in honour of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of Trinidad and Tobago. The event took place on April 25th at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, and was attended by several hundred guests including business leaders and high-level government officials from Canada and Trinidad and Tobago. Speakers included the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada; the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Prime Minister of The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; Chris Alexander, Member of Parliament for Ajax-Pickering; Kenneth Frankel, Chair of the Canadian Council for the Americas; Philip Anthony Buxo, High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to Canada; and CCA President Marina Jiménez. Diane Ablonczy, Member of Parliament for Calgary Nose Hill-Calgary and Minister of State of Foreign Affairs (Americas and Consular Affairs) was also in attendance. Take a look at our photo gallery.
