Mr. Fombonne was appointed Senior Vice President, Government Relations at Kinross Gold in March 2026. He leads strategy and implementation of government relations with a focus on enabling operations and major projects, navigating policy risk, and building long-term trust to secure and maintain a license to operate.

His work at Kinross spans compliance and legal affairs with a focus on regulatory adherence and ethical governance. He has held progressively senior roles at the company, including Vice President, Deputy General Counsel & Global Compliance, where he helped build out the global compliance program.

Daniel holds an L.L.B / B.C.L from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in International Relations, Magna Cum Laude, from Brown University.
